Jacqueline Bourdeau enseigne la technologie éducative au 1er cycle ainsi que dans les programmes de 2e cycle en technologie éducative : les programme courts, le DESS et les deux maitrises en Éducation, concentration technologie éducative, ainsi que la maitrise par cumul.

Ses recherches portent sur le design pédagogique, les systèmes tutoriels intelligents et l’ingénierie ontologique en représentation des connaissances.

Elle est membre de l’exécutif de la International Artificial Intelligence and Education Society, et membre de l’équipe éditoriale de la revue International Journal of Computer Supported Collaborative Learning. En 2010, elle a publié un ouvrage intitulé Advances in Intelligent Tutoring Systems, conjointement avec Roger Nkambou et Riichiro Mizoguchi, dans la série Studies in Computational Intelligence chez Springer Verlag.
